Health Promotion
CMDHB works to action the New Zealand Health Strategy and the Primary Health Care Strategy aiming to reduce inequalities in health and improve overall health status of the population in a primary care setting. Each Primary Healthcare Organisation (PHO) has to develop and implement a health promotion programme in order to access funding for the provision of health promotion services.
The Public Health Physician at Counties Manukau District Health Board works with PHOs in Counties Manukau for guidance in the development of their health promotion programmes.
